The hotel was built on a foundation of 250 concrete columns, 40 meters below sea level. The hotel covers 111,000 square meters and has 28 floors, each of them being an astonishing 7 meters tall. The building also hosts the tallest elevator in the world, which rises 182 meters above ground and offers access to all 202 luxury rooms at the hotel.
The world’s highest tennis court
Among Burj Al Arab’s many attractions is the tennis court, which is the world’s highest. The circular court hosted an exciting promotional game here between Roger Federer and American Andre Agassi in 2005. The stadium is not only for tennis, but also serves as a helipad

This 7-star hotel features some of the most famous restaurants around the world. The famous Al Mahara restaurant is located underwater, on the ground floor of the hotel. Enjoy the delicious dishes here and watch the exotic fish swim around you. Or, if you don’t fancy seafood, you can choose Al Muntaha, another of the hotel’s restaurants, at a height of 200 meters above sea level. To get there, take the famous elevator which moves at a speed of 6 meters / second. The glass walls offer stunning views of Jumeirah Beach and the world island.
Ads promoting luxury hotels are not common on television. But Jumeirah, the company that owns and operates the Burj Al Arab hotel, has launched video ads encouraging tourists to come here. One of these videos shows a man jumping from the top of the building, and while falling he sees the different floors of the hotel. The advertising is very clever and promises you extraordinary luxury.
