Hotels tend to be less expensive this time of year, with average rates of $275 compared to their fall rates which are typically much higher. Singapore is home to one of the largest Chinese New Year celebrations in the world, starting on Feb. 16 with colorful streets and lanterns, where you’ll find a wide range of seasonal food offered by street vendors.

Sultanate of Oman

Flights to Oman are often cheaper than to any other places either in Europe or America. In February we’ll find a pleasant, mild climate in Oman, just perfect for a getaway from the cold winter.

Visit the port city of Muscat, the capital of the country, which is home for two 500 year-old Portuguese fortresses, the Royal Opera House and a historic mosque with a 164-foot dome. If you drive two hours to the west of Muscat, you’ll reach the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar, 6,500 feet high.

For those of you who either are novice skiers or do not care so much about the sport, you could have a great time visiting Beaver Creek in February. You have, for example, the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch, which allows guests to enjoy the beautiful snow from indoors, at the spa, or get a private dinner in an authentic historic cabin dating back to 1900.

Cyprus

It is always wonderful to explore a new part of the Mediterranean, a vast area stretching over 10 countries. Throughout winter, we believe that the best option may be paying a visit to the island of Cyprus. Here, the magnificent beaches and castle are about 1,000 years old and built from rocks. Cyprus on average gets about 320 sunny days per year. It is an amazing opportunity for travelers with vitamin D deficiency, as they can visit the golden beach and bathe under the sun, enjoying the vast sandy dunes and the soothing nature.
